Welcome to all parents and little ones! All the information you will need can be found below, if you have any unanswered questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
What is Baby and Infant Massage?
Baby and infant massage is a type of complementary therapy used on babies. It is a lovely way to spend time bonding and giving your baby the uninterrupted attention that they deserve! Using gentle and rhythmic strokes, we are able to build up to a full body routine which can help with many things from relaxation to colic.
What to expect in the class?
Across the five weeks, we will build up to a full body routine. We will cover sleep/wake windows, colic routine, digestion and more.
We will be working from the floor! This is because this is the coolest and safest part of the room. The room may be a little warm for us adults, which means it’ll be the perfect temperature for your little one.
You may be wondering ‘what if my baby isn’t up for a massage when we arrive?’, that is absolutely fine! The routine we practice will be easy enough for you to go home and practice on your little one at a time that suits them, this can be after feeding or bath time.
What to bring?
Please bring with you the following:
Both a large towel and small blanket/ small towel from home
Yoga mat for your comfortability
Milk, babies get thirsty!
Nappies and changing essentials, changing is welcome
Requirements?
Your little one must be 0-12 months and have the same parent available for all five sessions. We require your full attendance for each class, please notify us if you are unable to attend a class.
We ask that there be no carer, nanny or au pair sitting in as the parent as one of our aims are to strengthen the bond between baby and parent. This includes other family members, we do ask that only one of the parents attend.
What to do if you have twins/triplets?
All babies are welcome! You have two options…
One baby per parent – if for example you have more than one baby, both parents can attend the class with both babies.
OR
Alternate babies – you are welcome to bring baby no.1 to our first class and practice on baby no.2 at home. On our second class you can bring baby no.2 and treat baby no.1 at home and then continue to alternate.
